Tuesday co-op: shared learning and shared responsibility
Tuesday is a consistent, full-day homeschool co-op where children and Eagles learn in parent-led classes while adults work together to make the entire day safe, welcoming, and dependable.
The day is more than a list of classes
A Tuesday has a shared rhythm: families arrive and settle in, children move through age-group class blocks, everyone pauses for lunch and recess, and the day closes with community time and cleanup. The exact labels and times can change with the term, but the purpose stays the same. Children have both focused learning and unhurried time to know one another. Adults are present throughout the day rather than handing children to a separate staff.
Parents and Eagles propose subjects they are prepared to share. That produces a changing mix of art, science, making, movement, literature, life skills, games, and other hands-on learning.
Classes are organized for Butterflies, Orcas, Woodpeckers, Bears, and Eagles. The active catalog shows only what is actually scheduled for the current term.
Lunch, recess, hallways, transitions, and cleanup are part of the community experience. Adults supervise and care for those spaces together.
Accepted households use the member site for registration, teaching roles, class locations, attendance, announcements, and each child’s schedule.
What adults commit to
Tuesday is not a drop-off enrichment program. An adult remains on site and generally contributes 3–4 hours each co-op week. A family may teach, co-teach, assist, help with arrival or transitions, supervise a shared space, support cleanup, or carry another community job. Families also attend consistently and take part in required fundraising.
Those expectations are functional, not ceremonial. They create enough adult coverage for classes and common areas, let the class list reflect the skills inside the community, and help a nonprofit program stay responsive without becoming a staffed school.
Cost and current information
Tuesday membership is $300 per family, per year. Current class fees are included in Tuesday membership registration. Required fundraising helps pay for the weekly facility and shared program costs while keeping the family fee low. The term summary below comes from the active scheduling records rather than a permanent marketing calendar.

How Tuesday serves the nonprofit mission
The corporation’s mission is to complement a home-based education and foster a diverse and supportive homeschool community. Tuesday complements home education by adding shared experiences that are difficult to create alone: group projects, peer conversation, collaborative play, multi-family classes, and a dependable network of local adults. It supports rather than replaces the education a family directs at home.
NKHC operates secularly and welcomes families of all faiths or none, including LGBTQ+ families and families active in faith communities. Families do not need identical curricula or worldviews. They do need to respect boundaries, communicate kindly, participate reliably, and help repair harm.
