NK Homeschool Community

Two ways to build local homeschool community

NK Homeschool Community programs

North Kitsap Homeschool Community is a parent-run nonprofit serving Kitsap families through two related programs. Tuesday co-op centers on shared classes and shared work. Social Mondays centers on recurring friendship and community time. Families can choose the path that fits now, and Tuesday membership includes Social Mondays group access.

Tuesday co-op

Children and Eagles move through parent-led class blocks while adults teach, assist, supervise shared spaces, and keep the day moving. Classes change each term because they grow from the interests and skills families bring.

  • A consistent full-day Tuesday rhythm
  • Current classes organized by age group
  • Adults remain on site and contribute 3–4 hours
  • Social Mondays access included

$300 per family, per year. Current class fees are included in registration; required fundraising helps support the facility and keep the family fee low.

Connection-first community

Social Mondays

Families meet for park days while weather allows, then continue the same relaxed rhythm through games, clubs, activities, field trips, and conversation. Children and adults get repeated time together without joining the Tuesday class schedule.

  • Recurring multi-age social time
  • No Tuesday class registration
  • No Tuesday volunteer commitment
  • A lower-commitment entry into the community

$25 facility fee per family. Social Mondays is a community group, not a membership, and the fee helps cover use of the Monday space.

One nonprofit mission, different family needs

The corporation’s mission is to complement a home-based education and foster a diverse and supportive homeschool community. Tuesday advances that mission through family-created learning and shared responsibility. Social Mondays advances it by giving families regular, lower-structure time to build relationships. Field trips, events, member-led meetups, and shared support connect both programs beyond their weekly rhythm.

Parent powered

Families contribute ideas, skills, supervision, practical help, and care rather than purchasing a drop-off service.

Secular and welcoming

Programs operate secularly and welcome families of all faiths or none, including LGBTQ+ families and families active in faith communities.

Local and recurring

Consistent time together helps children and adults move beyond introductions and form dependable relationships.

Clear before joining

Public program, fee, handbook, and governance information lets a family understand the commitment before applying.
